So my mother planned this christmas surprise (that she told me about of course:) and NO one, out of all 26 of us, guessed what it was EXCEPT mady... but i told her "no we are Ice skating" and she got excited. haha she didn't know the half of it.

And what was this surprise you ask? It involved NO jackets. NO shoes BUT transportation.

You will just have to wait and see.

about 10 minutes before we went outside and saw THIS sunset as we waited in the surprise... I bet you can't wait to find out;)

Just to give you a little sneak peak on what her new post will be...

We have been talking about for the past hour or two about what her motto should be...(she likes the so feel, so realize, so deny yourself for unfailing passion thing so she wants one of her own;)... So its like 1 in the morning (i'm a night owl for sure) over her and 2 in the afternoon over there in indo and we are talking about her new post. Luckily I got this screen shot... Lucky me...I just thought it was beautiful, and wanted to give you all a sneak peak.

I later responded saying: 'Carrigan, Take your time on that post! make it as LONG as you have to make it be to say everything you need to say:) bc KNOW its gonna be great;)

Is it weird that I would crave a blog? well i do.

Sometimes all i wanna do after a long day, i just wanna grab some sort of a beverage curdle up in my little cozy corner (pretty much a coffee shop sitting area in my room) with the laptop, and go through the archives and search every nook and crannie of this amazing site. And no matter how long I'm on-- usually 1-2 hours a day-- i find new amazing things!

Beachy vibes and late sun in cancun have to be the best thing ever...

The past week-- my first week out of school for Christmas-- I have been transffering pictures from 3 different computers because now I have a Macbook... just what i needed! anyways while looking through the pictures I found some from Cancun this July... which is when i had a blog but i didn't know what to blog... So i have these pretty great pictures that i DIDN'T put on here!what is that? I am ashamed of myself B/c it was one of the greatest portfolio opurtunities.

These were taken when I had just gotten my first real lens-- Canon 17-40mm f/4 L-- and after i got my Canon 85mm f/1.8, I kinda neglected this one. THEN while moving into the house and all the transitioing I LOST it... how do you lose a lens you ask?? I. Have. No. IDEA. I couldnt believe it because I always had it with me. BUT yesterday while looking through this cabinet (that i didn't even know existed my mommy found it.... !!!!!!!! I was so relieved... haha. But these pictures reminded me of how much i really did enjoy it. No more Neglecting!

awwwwwwhhhhh... Last post of Saturdays sessions DONE!! haha you wouldn't believe how much stress could be! But I wouldn't change it for the world-- I got some freaking cool pictures out of it!

THis family is a LARGE one ;)... but that seems to be the only clients i get... haha. But the way i see it, the more people, the more life and the more life the more BEAUTIFUL the pictures turn out! SO here is this beautiful family of 8!

This lady was s sweet! just look at the expression on her face... im pretty sure she adored the little girls ;)

This has got to be the most amazing 'set up' that i have photographed completely candidly

So i have a cousin she is pretty cool... today as we are skyping, and having some nice conversations (as always), and we went through her life and how she is unhappy and why and things she is going through... we started talking about blogs... we talked about how it is a photo journalistic opurtunity that kinda allows you to be personal with yourself (refresh and and be refreshed you know?)...

She sees some pretty awesome things around there--oh yah did i mention she lives in

So feel, so realize, So deny yourself for unfailing passion.

As i'm laying in bed i can't help but to think about passion and whats it's driven by. Passion comes from Inspiration, which comes from some realization of some sort. A realization that causes you to deny yourself in order to find yourself. Every love story movie: the reason why the guy gets all head over heels or whatever is because his character has stopped some way of thinking and gone to another in order to support his inspiration to make it passion. But how far do we take Passion? and is it good or bad? My passion comes from me stopping one way of thinking and finding some other that seems better... seems more benefital, seems more in the moment. I don't want a picture of mine to become the best thing in my whole photography career and i don't want the best thing in my life to be of visual art. I believe every deep love has a passion of some sort.... thats what makes it worth living out. I want it to be over something higher than I. Everyone does, even if it's unconciously (which is a realization just waiting to happen), and once we just realize that something a person does do is nothing to give yourself to, we find an ireversable passion for our creater. because the art isn't the bigger thing... it's the artist.

My passion is not to make people feel more than they have ever felt in order to have a passion for art because it's bigger than they are, but it is to make people feel greater than ever so that they can change their perspective to create a passion for their creater. I take no credit at all. (or i try not to) So feel.

So feel, so realize, So deny yourself for unfailing passion.

TOday was a much wanted snow day... it was my first snow day to take pictures of so it was lots of fun.

While i was taking the pictures I couldn't help but to be reminded of the pictures i took at the beach: totally opposite yet totally the same. They get just as excited and have just as much fun in the snow. Just a funny coincident.

My espresso Machine!

And of coarse we cant have the supplies and not the caffe Mocha

Fill the water chamber with cold, filtered water and turn the machine on.

Prime the pump. Open the steam valve and let a few ounces of water pass through.

Step

If you're using flavoured coffee syrup, add an ounce of flavoured coffee syrup to taste into the bottom of the cup and put it off to the side.

Now that the machine is ready, your first task is to steam the milk. Press the Steam button and wait for the light to turn green. In the meantime, fill your milk pitcher about halfway with cold milk of your choice and insert the thermometer.

Steam the milk. Submerge the steam wand just below the surface of the milk and open the steam valve. When enough foam has formed on the top, raise the pitcher so the steam wand reaches lower down in the milk, reducing the amount of foam created. When the thermometer reaches between 150 and 170 degrees Fahrenheit, close the steam valve and put the steamed milk to the side.

Press the Steam button off, and quickly and carefully wipe the steam wand with a damp cloth. Place a cup underneath the steam wand and open the steam valve to get rid of any milk that may be in the wand and prime the pump.

Now you're ready to make the espresso shot.

If you're using ground coffee, make sure that the coffee basket is inserted into the filter head. Measure out your coffee - about 1 1/2 Tbsp. for a single shot of espresso and about 3 Tbsp. for a double. Clear any excess coffee grounds from the top rim of the filter.

If you're using an espresso pod, place the pod into the bottom of the filter and insert the pod coffee pressure insert on top of the pod with the pod basket impression facing up.

Insert the coffee filter into the filter head, turning the filter handle as far to the right as it will go. Place a shot glass under the filter holes to catch the espresso. When the Ready light comes on, press the Brew button.

The espresso will pour into the shot glass. When you have enough coffee, press the Brew button to stop the flow of espresso.

Pour the espresso shot into the bottom of the mug with the coffee syrup. Grab your pitcher and pour the steamed milk over the coffee and syrup. A spoon will help hold back the foam. Leave enough room at the top of the mug for your desired amount of foam and spoon it in.

Something about fall is cozy and inviting... very desaturated and beautiful. Very calm relaxing... getting prepared for the holidays (or christmas i should say... when i say holidays im referring to all the holidays from October up) During the fall you look around and see inspiration in everything...

I just read a blog post about Fall and how the lovelyness of it flows through everything we see at that time... so I'm going to join Specs and Wings challenge to post what i see in inspiration of fall...

first off... i have grown a strong love for Starbucks and i have already posted a bunch of pictures of that... and im gonna count that as an inspiration of fall bc it was the first day of school and i felt fallish for some reason! a nice Venti Caffe Mocha in the morning are bound to make you feel like your cozy in the fall! (to bad later that day it was extremely hot and i regretted strongly what i wore that day:)

First inspiration: Colors

So beautiful that i decided to paint my room these colors!:D

THese are the pics of my room i promised. That Blog Post kinda tunes in with this too because thats taking about starbucks and stuff:D.... I found inspiration in it so much so i used it as a room accent (or should i say theme lol)

(and the color on this pic is horrid so dont take that and go 'those are not fall colors!' they are just extremely desaturated lol:)

My room has a lot to do with Fall colors My furniture is very Fallish desaturated colors..

The Triple whammy!

Next is the most exciting!

My room is being re done and the walls were painted (ill post pics of that tomorrow so check back)... this calls for overflowing ideas and creativity for the walls and Decor ;)

First: The bulletin boards

Im gonna get like three to put all over the room so i can just get pics put up there ALL the time! its pretty exciting

Next is my favorite... The theme of the room is like a coffee shop so there is a little nook in the corner for a table and a chair and a couch (which are pretty cool) and then i thought to myself 'hey i could get a coffee maker and put it in the nook!' so here are the suplies im gonna get and it's gonna be REally cool (like a mini starbucks!)

Yah I'm gonna have that in my room so i can have my vent caffe mocha to my hearts content..

I started school on Monday... it's been goin pretty well.:) so i will have more tomorrow so bye bye .. goodnight,

I woke up this Morning at 11:15 and then I got a call From Laura Anne asking if i could take her and Meg's Pictures so i did for about thirty Minutes or so (i really wanted that cherry-limeade that we were off to get... yah im a wimp in the hotness of the noon).... and out of that time we got some good pictures!

so lets talk about School supplies (because i know you have been thinking in your head 'i wonder what Emma is doing right now.) Well i have been dreading school and procastinating on reading the Iliad and Edith Hamilton's Mythology...Wow i have already beagan doing that whole put it off until the night before it is due... haha EXCELLENT way to start of the year don;'t you agree?

Lets begin this adventer with My Crumpler back-pack :) nobody will have it (and that is pretty much what i aim for when buying things to be the only one to have it.)

Oh and lets not forget the staples school Supplies... actually lets...

includes Session 1-2Hr long session and a disk with copyright sign over for prints and reprints. Online gallery(*online gallery will start in 2010*) of 50-75 pictures for family (password protected)

What we will do is go to 1 or 2 places on location and then we will go do something that you would normally do... like get ice cream or a smoothie.... go pic nik something at your house... whatever you want! The on location spots will be more controlled by me yet still VERY relaxed and somewhat candid. The second place will simply be 'go hang out'... hardly controlled by me. The most i will say is 'turn towards me' or something like that.. SO KEEP RELAXED! I dont wanna hear "kids be still and smile at the camera" I want total normalcy... and I promise those will be the best ones!

What to wear:

Where your FAVORITE outfit!! Wether it be a graphic tee or something you just feel good in! Even bring a change of clothes if you like! I DONT want the clothing to have anything to do with the pictures and i promise the pictures with you all in your favorite, most worn clothes will be your favorite!

Im really interested in doing family pics because each family has a different way of interacting with each other and i want to capture that in a way that expresses that Family.

What to wear:

Where your FAVORITE outfit!! Wether it be a graphic tee or something you just feel good in! Even bring a change of clothes if you like!

What to expect: Expect fun and wildness! Shoots can be kind of stressful so i do my best to keep them cal. we will begin with some group pics and then go on form there... we will do a mix of Posed and realistic pictures

I'm really interested in doing Seniors b/c i really want to capture this time in a persons life... i want the pictures to show who you were/ are becoming.... Capture a big part of their life. I think it will be a blast!

Yayy a senior:D ... we should test out a bunch of different things :

What to expect: Expect funn... not your typical pose and cheese picture. These will be real. We will go to 2-4 locations and do a mix of Posed and Candid, realistic pics

What to wear: Nice CLothes, Fun clothes your favorite clothes (favorite meaning it doesnt have to look perfect... a graphic tee works GREAT!)... we want to do it to where when you look back at the pics you will remember (or recognize) your style... Im sure you'll love the whole concept! So bring as many outfits as you want!

Bring along someone you know and will make you laugh! bring along as many people as you want!

What is about The Time Travelers Wife that gets me all weak???? I really like Rachel MCadams... I cannot wait to see that movie!!!! There was one day that i watched the trailer at least 5 times.... :D If there is a little gadget thingy on here that is a countdown I'm so putting it on here! SO thats my obsession for now:D ~obsessive~

being a photographer in a place like Austin would be one of the most amazing things in the world because of this: People in austin aren't just Type * people, and being a photographer known by talent (and not just by word of Mouth) would give me the access to become a little part in every kind of persons lifestyle... the way i see it is why would we want to miss out on something like that? how are we supposed to increase the kingdom of God if the people we are close to are already apart of it? Taking somebodys picture (especially when they are caught off guard) allows me to see there hearts and past... like pain, love or a "whatever or whoever is out there that is bigger than me please help me." look ~desiring~

Photography has been on my mind a lot lately... i've been so fortunate this Summer i already have around three photo sessions lined up (and from people who really want me to do it.)one of which is tonight... so i will have some of that up either tonight or tomorrow morning so check back:D ~Thought Taking~

I started Volleyball practice last week... has really been a year since i started Jhigh Volleyball?? School starts on the 24th... get excited! (don't really get excited that was a Joke... It's not worth getting excited about.) ~Time Consuming~

This summer has been crazy and crammed due to construction on the house... so we pretty much live in the gameroom, which is is he backyard:)... i Cant wait until we get to live in an actual house... that will be pleasent:D

tonight we had popcorn, cheese and apples. (a wonderful little combination) and watched 'the little couple'... snapped a few to capture what this summer has been: Crazy and crammed

How to save a life

Why when we have a friend that has strayed from the "flow of christianity" or was never really in the flow we automatically turn into 'must fix sinner mode'? Honestly if i were in a situation that caused me to fall off the edge i wouldn't want anyone to be hitting me on the head with the bible. I would then think that my friends didn't think of me as a work of Gods art but more of a sinner who needs to be fixed.... like a screw up. I would think that they think they know it all and they are better then me... i wouldn't want to be around them ever. Most people don't think that of their friends... they simply want to help... but at the same time sometimes people can use them as a tool for their own self esteem: to make them feel like they have fixed something by completely nailing them in the head with the bible. Rebuke your friends don't try to do God's job: completely remodeling them. all we can do is love, cominicate, be present always, and always be open to talk. when someone is going through a time of rebellion and they feel like they have been betrayed by God and His word their not going to all of the sudden listen to it when after you've shuved it in their face. they will turn away even more. Just pray and do what God is telling you to do because God would be the ultimate reason why that persons life would be changed so Commit your actions to the LOrd and your plans will succeed. JUST LOVE GODS LOVE. SHINE GODS LIGHT. shining your mind does nada. Therefore we CANNot save a life.

First off I would like to address something;) ... I often get the impression that people don't quite understand--With all respect--that i do have a professional business... small and probably safer to say aspiring business, But it is a business. I have definitely done my share of researching about Photography and how to maintain it's Business aspect. And i'm still going because I love it so much! So to address all the confusion: yes I do have a business and am excepting bookings:)--and hopefully some client testimonials coming soon--

I just started taking pictures late April... i instantly fell in love with it! I desire to Capture people being themselves... I love fun location, but thats not what i base my photography on... i base my photography on making everybody feel beautiful and be comfortable in front of the camera... Makes them confident. lovely. Lovable. out going. Fun. Because when people get their pictures i want their face to light up because they can see the persons heart by looking at their face. I want to take Pictures that people won't lose for the rest of their lives. I want to capture important things in EVERYONES life. My goal is to give you more than you expected or bargained for.

My main Inspiration: Tara Whitney (just to give you a little taste of something i'm hoping to be sometime:)
